Well firstly so much for the "South Africa can't produce enough food to support it's people anymore" theory. They have just recorded the second biggest every maize crop in the history of the county. So much that farmers are going to make a loss just trying to get rid of it. So what's going to happen to this maize ?
1) Bulk will be sold off at record low prices.
2) None will be imported.
3) Much will be turned in chicken, pig and cattle feed, bringing down the meat price.
4) The rest will be processed and exported.
End end result ?
Massive drop in food prices. More disposable income for everyone. South Africa = Pure win.
