My thoughts on Iran

So it should be no secret that I'm politically a libetarian (very different from a liberal as my critics so often get wrong) and much because I have a man crush on Ron Paul. He is currently running for the republican nomination and despite the attempt from the big business controlled media (terrified of the prospect of someone not in their pocket actually being in power like pretty much every president in the last 100 years) to block him out of your consciousness he is still a real chance. He came in a close third in Iowa and is polling second in New Hampshire. If you don't know what I'm talking about fuck you and get dog in this fight. The very future of our lives is at stake. Here's some evidence of what I'm talking about.

Anyway I'm watching a lot of CNN to get my dose of the double speak and soviet like propaganda. I refuse to call myself a conspiracy theorist because that's insulting to my extreme intelligence and the blatant facts that appear so obvious to me. To break it down quickly and simply you should  KNOW the following: The world IS controlled by oil and weapons company interests. There really is a Bilberberg group and there really is a New world order zionist (not to be confused with Jewish in the religious sense) conspiracy to divide and rule (Since Lenon, Marx etc....just read more if you think I'm loopy) . The truth is so Machiavellian and manipulative I don't expect you to easily accept that. We're after all talking about people who send kids to die for profit etc. The truth when so evil is often rejected by the human mind. I forgive you that fallibility. Just a friendly reminder that 1 in 10 people is a sociopath and a further 1 in 10 of those is a gifted sociopath. That 1 in 100 people is very likely a corrupt but successful businessman, serial killer or worse.....politician.

Anyway I want to talk about Iran.

If...and god forbid (not that I believe in the genocidal, sadistic, maniac that is described in the old testament because he would not forbid it) ...the U.S.A does get into a war with Iran let me tell you it will be nothing to do with any Iranian aggression (much the same as with  IRAQ) and all to do with oil and the American federal reserves wish to push interest rates up (print money backed against nothing) for its profit. It is believe it or not a private enterprise. You can laugh me off but the joke is in you if you don't know what I'm talking about.

So here's my little personal story.

About 5 years ago I was flying out somewhere or other and stayed in a hotel in JHB for the night. I met an Iranian physicist here on a conference and took him out to Monte Casino for some vice. We ended up gambling, drinking and watching some cabaret with scantily clad females which was rather to his(and mine) taste. Anyway in between the revelry we got to discuss the situation in Iran. Of course as an arm chair cosmologist physics was much on the agenda but he showed little interest in the quantum realm. His general assessment ?

Iran is free and thriving and there is very little social or political objection to the leadership. This is the card that will shortly be played in the coming war mongering (heard it here first) that the people of Iran are oppressed. In fact much like Iraq (where women had more freedom than Saudi Arabia by miles but wasn't in the U.S.A's pocket), Iran is a bastion of liberal Muslim rule. Despite rumours of statements like "wipe Israel off the map" it's simply never been said. Despite "nuclear aspirations" etc It's warmongering pure and simple. Iran poses no threat to the U.S.A. In fact when Obama (that lying fuck) was elected Iran went so far as to say to the U.S.A if they dropped the santions they were fully willing to drop their "nuclear aspirations". What followed was ongoing aggression and propaganda from the U.S.A towards Iran.

So what can we expect ? A war in the next 2 years.  100's of thousands of deaths. Massive profits for the military industrial complex.

For no good reasons.

Yawn. This world gets more boring and predictable by the day.

Ron Paul being ignored by the media. Shame poor dude. He must be on my side if the evil media are against him. Lets all Tweet/Facebook/BEBO/Flickr/FuckFace our friend about how cool he is.

The big bad media are evil for paying too much attention to him or not enough. Dude just can't seem to find that goldilocks zone.

Here's a thought. Perhaps the Republican party are just trying to cast as big a net as possible by covering all the basis from the the ridiculous castle “wholesome value” Rick Perry to the bishop “evil government ” Ron Paul and every sort of court jester in between. They all count as Republican votes in the end, or is it giving them too much credit to suppose they may have identified and are targeting the new swing vote, the disillusioned? Personally, I hope they all get eaten by bears.

Google “CNN”- Type “Ron Paul” into their search bar - Get bored and give up counting after 60 pages of Ron Paul Links.

Personally, my vote would go with any party that makes it a priority to terraform and populate Mars as well as free health care and education along the way. The rest is just white noise to me.

Rooster, we can agree that the world is fucked up in many ways but there is no evident self enforcing ratio between the amount of American rhetoric and the actual state of social and physical infrastructure in Iran. The place has been haunted by dictator after theocratic zealot for as long as they can remember. There is real suffering going on. All of this is not our concern and they should be left to their own devices but lets not paint in the shadows with some sort of pseudo counterpoint logic.

Persepolis, read the plot then watch the film.

Fuck America and their oil, this is a human story, an Iranian story, that should not be swept aside by political posturing.

Ron Paul is too eccentric and panders too much to the nutcase Tea Party brigade to appeal to the broad majority. The Republican Party has not come up with any viable candidates for the presidency thus far. At this rate we can expect to see the inept Obama re-elected.

“Iran is one of the most seismically active countries in the world, being crossed by several major fault lines that cover at least 90% of the country. As a result, earthquakes in Iran occur often and are destructive.
The Iranian plateau is subject to most types of tectonic activity, including active folding, faulting and volcanic eruptions. It is well known for its long history of disastrous earthquake activity. Not only have these earthquakes killed thousands, but they have also led to waste of valuable natural resources. Since 1900, at least 126,000 fatalities have resulted from earthquakes in Iran.
” - Wikipedia

“In Tehran, Iran’s capital, Dr. Bilham has calculated that one million people could die in a predicted quake similar in intensity to the one in Haiti. (Some Iranian geologists have pressed their government for decades to move the capital because of the nest of surrounding geologic faults.)” http://www.nytimes.com/2010/02/25/science/earth/25quake.html?pagewanted=all

But the Iranian regime have other priorities, like constructing a plethora of underground/overground uranium processing facilities and stock piling the radioactive product. The crumbling capital city can wait, presumably until the “big one hits” and the survivors are looking down at the possibly irradiated ruins that once were their homes. Yes, yes... it will never happen, and if it does, well, it is as Allah wills. Quite simply, Iran's justifications for having nuclear energy don't add up until you throw nuclear weapons into the mix. The terrain too unsuitable and the alternatives too available.

I know that when quoting from well known sources you run the risk of looking rather uncool. After all, everybody knows that being cool involves a certain amount of mystery – like a impromptu encounters with an Iranian physicists – but this piece is informative and so I will take my chances.

I don't think that a US invasion would be a good outcome but one thing is for sure, the people of Iran have a rather large monkey on their back and it comes in the twisted shape of theocratic despotism.

I like a good conspiracy theory. They are quite beautiful in a way, watching them evolve and grow, how they suddenly boom when hitting the right markers or shrivel away when they do not. They are the mermaids of the meme world. It is remarkable how the rise of the internet has created a landscape for these new creatures to flourish. When a conspiracy meme finds it's way onto the internet it can spread rapidly, coming into conflict with other memes where it will either be rendered inert, perish at the hands of a stronger meme or come to dominate over other memes, all the time evolving. A sort of natural selection in our consciencness. The more specific knowledge a healthy brain has the stronger its memes will be and the better equipped at defending against these sirens. This is why the conspiracy meme targets the ill informed, the cognitive dissident and the wilfully ignorant, because a mind that does not have the equipment, will or strength to fight back is easily seduced.

Here is a good description of what separates scepticism from denialism:

Kak. The U.S.A is CLEARLY the aggressor currently no matter what cnn shoves down your throat. Why would Iran want to invite the wrath of the U.s.A ? Time and time again they have cried out for peace talks whioch the U.S.a has shunned. Pure warmongering by the U.S.A , pure and fucking simple.
